Students Hear from Secretary of State Kim Wyman About Election Process

Ms. Paulson's eighth grade humanities students engage in real world work that matters. In 2020, hot topics are elections, election safety, voter access, and civic engagement. Through their work with Teach with TVW, students were invited to ask Secretary of State Kim Wyman a few questions over a Zoom call about the upcoming election and civic engagement at the state level.
Wyman's advice to students who want to inspire more young people to vote, but are not yet old enough to vote themselves? "Use your circle of influence," she says. This means talking to family and friends about issues, asking questions, reminding relatives to get their ballots in, looking beyond social media for answers.
