We would like to congratulate Ayush Noori on his participation in the National Spelling Bee this week. Many of our families joined us on Wednesday in following him in the preliminary rounds through social media or the Internet coverage as he spelled both "polymer" and "golem" correctly in the Bee. Ayush's score on the incredibly challenging written test
just kept him from advancing to the semi-finals; going to the National Bee is a fantastic accomplishment, and he has another year of eligibility remaining! We are extremely proud of the passion, dedication, and talent that has made Ayush one of the top spellers in the country, but to those of us who know him, we are even prouder of how he cares for others and represents our school and his family.
Seventh grader Ayush Noori was one of 285 spellers from the the 50 U.S. states, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense Schools in Europe; also, the Bahamas, Canada, China, Ghana, Jamaica, Japan and South Korea, who competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

Ayush was interviewed by King 5 News and KIRO7. In the King 5 broadcast, news anchors, Joyce Taylor and Mark Wright challenged him to spell two words, logorrhea and ursprache
. Ayush had no problem spelling these two words and was very articulate in expressing how it feels like to stand in front of an audience, "heart pounding" and also "exhilarating." For viewers, Ayush makes it seem effortless.Watch the video segment here!
Ayush also had an opportunity to share information about his non-profit organization, Maitri Miracles
, whose aim is to help others around the world and held a Spell-A-Thon leading up to the national Bee.
