As a former gifted student and the parent of two gifted children, I believe deeply in the importance of schools that both challenge and support gifted learners. My passion for this work led me to spend many years in the classroom, earn an endorsement in gifted education, and later complete a doctorate in education; I now serve as Director of Strategic Program Development and Enrollment Management.

 I love Open Window School because we focus on the whole child, supporting both hearts and minds while helping students grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

My father was born in a small farming village in Mexico and became the first in his family to graduate from college. Watching what that education opened up for him, and for us, is the reason I believe so deeply in getting bright, curious kids into the right school early. I've often wondered what doors might have opened for him if he'd had a school built to challenge a mind like his. That belief has taken me around the world. I grew up overseas, served two terms in the Peace Corps, taught in schools in Washington, D.C., and worked with schools in Seattle, WA. My experience has made me a proud third-culture kid and, a purposeful global citizen in the way Open Window asks of its own students. I bring that same cross-cultural fluency, along with a decade building the systems that keep a family's file complete and their first impression warm.

I love that Open Window treats a child's intellectual intensity as something to nurture, not manage. It's the kind of school I wish my father had had, and it's why I'm glad to help find that same spark in every family who walks through our door.
