Student Support Services

More from
SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS

Student Support Services meets students where they are, helping each child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our team includes our school nurse, lower school counselor, middle school counselor, the Student Support Services Coordinator, and school administrators. We work closely with teachers, families, and, when helpful, outside professionals to support our students. Student Support is part of how we create a healthy, inclusive, and connected school culture.  This team meets with teachers frequently in both divisions.

These touchpoints ensure students receive social and emotional care, and academic support if needed, while teachers feel supported with strategies for gifted learners.

NURTURING THE HEART

Our counselors lead classroom lessons and facilitate conversations around emotional intelligence, identity, and belonging. Our support specialist helps build executive functioning and learning strategies. And our nurse ensures students feel safe and cared for, whether managing a chronic condition or just needing a moment to reset.

Together, our team helps students develop resilience, advocate for themselves, and build the confidence they need to navigate both challenges and opportunities.

Gifted students often grow asynchronously. A child may be years ahead in one area and still developing in another.

Many experience sensory sensitivities, big feelings, or attention and executive functioning challenges. Some are twice-exceptional. Our team distinguishes what is typical for gifted learners from what may require targeted support so we can match the right help at the right time.

PARTNERSHIP EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

Families are essential partners. We listen, share observations, and plan next steps together so support is coordinated at school, at home, and in after-school experiences.
