Cancellations received between April 1 and June 1 will incur a cancellation fee of $150 per student per week. Fees paid outside of this cancellation fee will be refunded. 

• Requests to transfer registrations from one week to another are subject to availability. If a transfer is possible, no cancellation fee will be incurred

Innovation Camps are all about hands-on learning to engage in creative exploration. 

Each class invites students to follow their curiosity, stretch their thinking, and experience the fun of creating something new. 

Students can choose from experiences that include: 

• Robotics and Coding 

• Parkour and Martial Arts 

• Putting on a Drama Performance 

• Chess and Debate 

• Painting and Minecraft 

The camps are academic, creative, and recreational. We design every session with gifted learners in mind, so each class balances thoughtful instruction with plenty of room for experimentation and play. Students stay engaged, energized, and excited to learn in a setting that celebrates innovation at every turn. 

Adventure Camp, for students in grades K through 4, blends classic summer fun with hands-on learning led by energetic counselors and specialist teachers in art, movement, music, nature, and STEM. Each week follows a playful theme that shapes the projects, games, and discoveries campers enjoy together. 

This summer’s themes guide a lively mix of activities, including: 

• The Great Color Quest - Campers explore a new color and value each day culminating in a Color Parade and Neon Dance Party. 

• Buildtopia - Young builders design shops and neighborhoods for ShenaLand City, complete with simple structures crafted from recycled materials. 

• Wild and Wacky Games - Campers race through water relays and goofy obstacle challenges that spark teamwork and laughter. 

• MythBusters - Groups investigate favorite myths with hands-on science, such as bubbling “potions” made from safe kitchen chemistry. 

• OWSchella - Campers create performances and artwork that help transform camp into a joyful end-of-summer festival. 

Campers spend their days exploring new ideas, building friendships, and discovering what they can do when curiosity leads the way. 

Adventure Explorers, for students in grades 5 through 7, takes adventure to the next level with 3-4 field trips each week, including  hikes, local excursions, and team challenges that inspire independence and friendship. Each session gives campers the chance to explore new places, try new skills, and enjoy the freedom of being out in the world together. 

Activities can include: 

• Local hikes that build confidence on the trail 

• Tidepool visits where campers discover the shoreline up close 

• Rock climbing sessions that encourage focus and teamwork 

• Kayaking adventures on calm local waters 

• Scavenger hunts that blend strategy, movement, and problem solving 

• Arcade outings for a burst of playful energy 

• A summer highlight trip to a Seattle Storm game 

Every week offers a balance of challenge, creativity, and connection. Adventure Explorers gives older campers a lively space to grow their independence while having fun with friends. 

• Adventure Explorers will need a brown bag lunch  

Designed for students entering grades 8–10, the LIT Program teaches real-world leadership and professional skills through the lens of summer camp. 

LITs assist in classrooms, mentor younger campers, and attend leadership workshops led by the LIT Manager.

• Lunch and two snacks (ready-to-eat; no microwaves or refrigeration available) 

• A filled water bottle 

• Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes 

• Sunscreen that your student can apply themselves, and a hat for outdoor play 

• Optional: small backpack for personal items 

• Any required medications (see below) 

Please label all belongings with your child’s full name. 

Complete the Medication Authorization Form and return it via email (summer@ows.org) or have your doctor fax it to 425-562-4035 
Place all medications in a labeled Ziploc bag and drop them off either: 

• The week before your child’s program begins, or 

• With a staff member on the first day of camp. 

All medications are stored in the school health office and managed by our nurse. Campers may not self-carry unless pre-approved. 

Yes! Please share relevant information during registration. 

We work closely with families to support allergies, dietary restrictions, and other individual needs whenever possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Program Director to chat more. 

Safety and connection are at the heart of our program. 

Each Adventure group maintains low staff-to-camper ratios, led by trained counselors and specialist teachers in art, music, movement, STEM, and nature. 

Innovation programs are led by trained teachers knowledgeable in their program field. 

All staff participate in a full Staff Training Week focused on safety, SEL, behavior support, camp procedures, and how to create joyful and inclusive camp communities. 

Our ratios vary by age band but are intentionally kept low to support safety, supervision, and strong relationships.

• K–4 Adventure: 1:8 

• Innovation: 1:10 (varies by class type)
