HELPING GIFTED
STUDENTS THRIVE
At Open Window, social-emotional learning (SEL) is a core part of how we help gifted students thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Our program equips students with the skills to understand themselves, build healthy relationships, and make thoughtful decisions.
Grounded in the CASEL Framework, students grow in five areas through intentional lessons and everyday practice:
Self-Awareness – Recognizing emotions, strengths, and how we affect others
Self-Management – Navigating stress, emotions, and personal goals
Social Awareness – Practicing empathy, inclusion, and cultural understanding
Relationship Skills – Communicating clearly and resolving conflicts with care
Responsible Decision-Making – Setting goals and making ethical, informed choices
| SEL at Open Window is woven into everything we do, from advisory circles to collaborative projects to Hallmark trips. SEL is modeled by teachers, advisors, and a dedicated student support team. It’s how we help students become not only strong learners, but passionate, purposeful global citizens. |
