Being gifted means experiencing the world in a unique way. At Open Window School, our students think deeply, ask big questions, and crave meaningful challenges. They are often intensely curious, quick to grasp new concepts, and eager to dive deeply into their interests. Giftedness can also bring unique challenges and sensitivities that require understanding and support.

What does giftedness look like? 

Giftedness can show up in many ways, often beyond traditional academics:

• Gifted students frequently ask complex questions, engage in abstract thinking, and display a remarkable ability to connect ideas.
• They often find creative solutions and enjoy tackling problems that require out-of-the-box thinking.
• Many gifted students have a drive to understand complex topics and may focus deeply on subjects that capture their interest.
• High emotional awareness and empathy are common, sometimes leading to strong reactions to world events or personal experiences.
• Gifted learners often develop intellectually ahead of their peers, while social and emotional growth may follow a different timeline.

At Open Window School, we are deeply committed to meeting the needs of gifted learners. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to nurture both the head and heart of our gifted students.
